Welcome to our nano piece of paradise!
This is essentially a creative photo blog plus few words. It is about Sandra and Denny's gardens and surrounds. My granddaughter Adelyn calls me "Poppop", hence the blog name. We try to add new images once a week. Older posts are archived at page bottom. Click an image to enlarge. We're having fun. Please! Enjoy!

June Flowers and Future Veg and Fruit

The first sunflowers. Ahhhh sunflowers! The warm weather getting warmer and the garden is "popping". The peas are done and fading. The chard has recovered from the pummeling of hail. Soon we'll be awash (and washing) all the summer veggies. So enjoy a scroll through the garden...

Goodmorning Glory, and peas, and other Garliosities

In spite of the strange storm, everything survived, has recovered, and is thriving. We hate to lose the life. So I could not resist including this glory up front. It's actually a "dwarf" morning glory that doesn't need to climb. Climbers are nice too though!
... I will caption the rest of the story...
Pea blossom. The sweet edible pod peas are nearly done. (They hate the heat!)

This is GARLIC. We love garlic.
 Not everyone does.
It depends, ...more or less, I guess...
Garlic scapes. Get over your fear!
When cooked, they are quite mild and good!
Good, and beautiful too!

Believe or not... making powdered garlic.

Chip! 1,2,3 ...21,22,23... etc. etc. etc.
His friend is inside the cage. He's just "visiting".
(I get my exercise walking them to their "way back".)

The Strange Sopping Storm

One day last week it began to rain. This was good for the garden. I checked internet weather radar... it was just a little tiny local thing. It would be over soon. ...Not true! Rain, RAIN, rain, RAIN, HAIL, hail, rain, ... all this with blue sky and sunshine obviously visible all around us! Very strange for our area. Over an hour later, and several inches of water later, it finally cleared! Poppop garden was assaulted and challenged! There were only a few "setbacks". Everything survived. Today all the damage is fading and the life grows on! More on the growing next week!
